Terms

The short, human version. houPantry is a small community project in closed alpha.

Be good

We can remove recipes or accounts that break these rules, and during the alpha we'll use common sense about what that means.

Importing runs code

A recipe is a Houdini node network, and node networks can contain expressions, VEX and Python. Importing a recipe or pasting a Pastry runs whatever it contains, just like opening a .hip file someone sent you. We don't scan or review recipes. Only import from people you trust.

What you publish

You keep ownership of what you publish. When you make a recipe public, other people can view it and import it into their own Houdini work, which is the point of the library. Private recipes aren't listed or searchable. You can make a recipe private or delete it at any time.

No guarantees

houPantry is free and in alpha. Things will break, and we can't promise it will always be available or that data will never be lost, so keep your own copies of anything important. Recipes come from the community, and we're not responsible for what they do.

What you agree to before publishing

Before you can publish, the plugin and your account page ask you to accept this, word for word:

I own the rights to this content (or have permission to share it). I understand houPantry takes no responsibility for community-submitted content, and that anyone importing it does so at their own risk. Recipes and Pastries can contain executable code (expressions, VEX, Python SOPs) - I will only import Recipes or paste Pastries from sources I trust.

See also the Privacy page for what we store and how to delete it.
